Bikeability

Primary 6 have started working towards their Bikeability Level 2 award.

In the playground we have been demonstrating safety checks on our bikes, clothing and helmets.

We have been developing our skills before we get to the road sessions. We are working on-

  • Taking off safely – performing checks and signaling.
  • Signaling accurately.
  • Stopping safely.
  • Left hand turns.
  • Right hand turns.
  • U-turns.

Primary 6 are having to use a lot of risk-assessing skills and on-the-spot thinking during these sessions. We are looking forward to putting our new skills to use on the road!

February

Primary 6/1 thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Primary 3’s RSPB Fundraiser. Well done to Mrs Powell and her class for organising and hosting us!

Thanks to all of those who were able to make it along to Open Afternoon. We loved showing off everything we have been learning and having you in the class for the afternoon! Here are some of our Optical Illusion Artwork:

Science- Clean Water

We have been learning about the importance of water and how to clean water.  We collected dirty water and made predictions about how we would clean the water using household materials.  We identified that a combination of filter paper, cloths and sieves cleaned the water the best, but we still would not drink it!
